The Resuscitation Council (UK) was formed in August 1981 by a group of medical practitioners from a variety of specialities who shared an interest in, and concern for, the subject of resuscitation.
This website provides information for employers, employees, first-aiders and training organisations on first aid at work. As a minimum, a low-risk workplace such as a small office should have a first-aid box and a person appointed to take charge of first-aid arrangements, such as calling the emergency services if necessary. Employers must provide information about first-aid arrangements to their employees.
We believe that any Serviceman or woman who suffers life changing injuries in the line of duty deserves the very best support for life.
SMP will provide assurance that the due diligence criteria is adequately met and this will be clearly shown for any member that is a first aid training provider.
This will be carried out by SMP investigators and inspectors checking qualifications and carrying out monitoring and inspections where needed.
This will be carried out to meet the requirements of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.
